New Things Are About To Begin!!

Alright, so for anyone who doesn't know I leave this Sunday, March 6th, for San Francisco!!! I'll be working with an organization called Center for Student Missions. It focuses on poverty and injustices in the cities, and has hosting in places like Chicago, Toronto, D.C, Philly, New York City and a few other places. Basically my job will be to host groups that come to stay with us, and these will usually consist of middle school and high school youth groups. I will take them for a tour of San Fran, give them statistics and just historical facts about the city and we'll pray over it. Then for the next few days, my job will be to take them to different food shelters, food banks, underpriveledged schools, etc. to show them the reality of those in poverty in the city. Another big part of the trip is to take the groups to different ethnic restauraunts so they can experience different cultures. Really, to me this is a chance to open up young minds to what it means to be the hands and feet of Christ. Not just to pray for them, though that is a great thing, but to actually do something.

So please be praying for me as I start this journey. It's only for two months, but I hope to learn a lot about how to help those who are oppressed. God has been doing great things in my life since I left the Pacific Rim, and though it has taken me some time to see why He has allowed this past year to go the way it has, I understand that He has brought me to a level of understanding Him that I would not be at otherwise. Pray that my heart will be in the right place, that I will be constantly humbled and not think myself special for doing the work that God has called me to do. I love you all!!!
